Red Foxes - Range
Red Foxes are found on vast territories including Ontario, Alaska, Europe, Australia, and even South Africa. The home ranges depend on the quality of the habitat and food availability. In urban areas, the home range of the Red Fox may be as small as 0.2 square km. In some areas, where food is abundant, the Red Fox's home range may be from 20 to 50 square km. As a rule, one family group consists of a breeding pair and pups that share an area.

Red Foxes - Life Style
The Red Fox can be seen throughout the year. They are observed mainly at night, which is a hunting time. However, some Red Foxes come out at daytime. The species is highly adaptable and can learn to live in close proximity to humans. A natural predator, the Red Fox faces a lot of threats in the wild including trapping. However, the species seems to be intelligent enough to learn how to escape traps.
Red Foxes live in family groups or may be solitary. A group usually has a den with a lot of burrows. The Red Fox either digs a den or lives in a den that was dug by rabbits and marmots. A den may be used by more than one generation. The species is territorial, yet home ranges may overlap sometimes. Fights between males may occur during the breeding season. Red Foxes mate for life, yet the female may have more than one partner during the breeding season.
